If you situate those three rooms units in different buildings, patients will have to spend too much time getting from one room to another. If you build them too small and make the corridors narrow, human traffic congestions are inevitable. Before building one of those offices, we’d recommend to think twice on its placement. Consolidate Treatment Rooms Some rooms in the game are needed exclusively for treatment, which means patients only need to go there to heal. It would be wise to create one Treatment Center in a separate building and direct all your patients that need healing there. Thus, you will also divide your hospital into Diagnostics and Treatment wings, which will increase the level of productivity in both of those fields. Treatment-only rooms are Pharmacy, De-Lux, Pans Lab, Clown Clinic, Chromatherapy, Fracture Ward, Injection Room, Surgery, Shock Clinic, Head Office, and Pest Control. Don’t Build Special Units for Infrequent Diseases If you get only one patient with a particular illness a year, don’t bother to build the special room for its treatment, as it will never pay out this way. Every level (except maybe the last one) has a few primary illnesses, and it’s recommended for you to focus on them. Remember that you can always send patients home if you don’t have means to treat them or if they’re about to die. That may some cruel, but that’s the basis of efficient management. Feed Your Personnel Food is the key to your staff happiness and, therefore, efficiency. Marketplace and food machines work great all over your hospitals but consider placing food in the staff rooms so that they wouldn’t have to lose time running to the next building for a quick snack. Of course, this recipe doesn’t work during busy hours. Try to make the lunch breaks as comfortable as possible so that your personnel could regain energy. If you have a research team, staff rooms are not that important as their level of happiness doesn’t mean much in their work. Coffee and energy drinks will be quite enough. Cool Research Cheat This cheat is only available to those who have completed Mitton University level, but it’s so good that we decided to include it in the top tricks list. In Mitton University you can get researchers of level 5 that are incredibly fast learners. If on some of the later levels you need to research a new technology but don’t want to lose time and human resources on it, start the research at your current hospital and then go back to Mitton to continue it. Another question is how diverse and challenging they are. Currently, there are fifteen levels in five different regions plus three additional levels that came out with Bigfoot DLC expansion. Each level is a hospital you have to manage successfully. The hospitals are divided into five blocks; each block equals a region with a unique climate and ecological conditions. Let’s go through all of them. Review of the Fifteen Levels Hogsport is the first hospital of Countryside region and a place where you learn the basics of hospital administration. It has tutorials on every aspect of the game, so after fulfilling your objectives here, you know pretty much everything about the game mechanics. This level is easy, but it has lots of curious details and bits of advice on strategy development in room building, reputation boosting, emergencies and other essentials. Try to get to the core of it by gaining three stars and not moving further to the next hospital. Lower Bullocks is the next Countryside region unit. It comes with a new Psychiatry room and a bunch of psych-related diseases, such as Mock Star, Verbal Diarrhea or Portishead. And they’re really as funny as they sound. This level is not a tutorial, but it’s also quite easy. Flottering, the last hospital in a mild Countryside climate, introduces staff training which is in many ways a pivotal element to the game. Besides training rooms, a Clown Clinic unlocks. It’s a strange and funny place where you can cure Jest Infection. On this level, pay attention to Training and Ward Management, as plenty of emergencies happens in the Ward. Mitton University opens up the next region of the game. It’s cold up here, so you need to think about heating equipment when building hospital spaces. The university hospital is home to many bright minds, and the research is in the foreground here. You the new Research, Chromatherapy, and Injection rooms, as well as a set of new illnesses. Training is crucial here as you begin this level with a team of university students. Tumble is the hospital that mainly deals with breaks and bruises that tourists get from hiking around the area. The illnesses like Broken Face and Jazz Hand are introduced. Fracture Ward is your top priority here, as well the staff training. This level is a little bit tight on your finances, so it makes you learn the hospital economy basics. Flemington is a wealthy hospital of a wealthy town. Here you can get a marketing licence and unlock Marketing Room. You also get a Pest Control research room. Duckworth-Upon-Bilge is the last Industrial level. It deals with all the fuss and trouble of a public hospital. You always short of money here as you don’t get it from diagnosis, treatment, and retail. The management strategies you used in previous levels are most likely to fail here, so be flexible and think ahead. There’s a new research room called Resolution Lab. Sweaty Palms, the first hospital of Tropical region, introduces hot climate and Air conditioners into the game. It’s a resort hospital situated in a picturesque area rich with natural disasters. You get a Cryptology room and a Premature Mummification illness. Fire Extinguishers are a must here, as volcanic eruptions get frequent. Oh, almost forgot: there’s also tropical epidemics, and the number of vaccines is limited. Welcome to one of the toughest regions! Grockle Bay adds some funny illnesses to the game and a brand new Recurvery room. You also get Jogger’s Ripple epidemic. Emergencies happen here more often than on previous levels so make sure you have trained specialists in Pharmacy, Psychiatry, and Shock Horror. This level is beautifully designed: all the buildings have smart passages and built-in bridges, and even the illnesses have art quality to them (check out Cubism!). Blighton in Two Point Hospital language means a town that has all the possible contagions. There are no rooms left to unlock but you et another funny Leopard Skin disease. Try to build your hospital spaces small to avoid big gatherings. Hygiene is the key element here if you want to complete the level. Rotting Hill is the neglected hospital that welcomes you in the Urban region. No rooms or illnesses to unlock here, just plain management. You start out with $10 000 in debt and the lowest possible reputation. Hard work is what’s going to save you here. Pelican Wharf is all about machinery and high-tech solutions. Put emphasis on research, and you will never regret it. The neighbourhood is dizzy and stylish with its high-rises and subway maps. The best transport for this level is the helicopter. Croquembouche is the hospital you build from scratch in the most prestigious part of the city centre. Two point hospitals pros think of it as a long-awaited retreat and the closest thing to sandbox mode you get in this game. It’s very difficult, of course, as every illness from previous levels is unlocked, and the patient queues seem never-ending. But you get here as an expert in hospital management. Review of Bigfoot Expansion Levels Bigfoot expansion introduces three additional levels in the Snowfall region. They are not as tough as the higher levels in the basic Two Point Hospital game, but you will need to complete at least three levels of Countryside region to understand the mechanics of the gameplay. Underlook Hotel is a forsaken mountain resort that desperately needs management. Here instead of getting money for curing patients, you get paid by the hotel for completing the tasks it sets. After three months of management, you start to get a performance bonus based on your work efficiency. A new room and a bunch of funny new illnesses unlock at this level. Swelbard is a typical research-based hopital situated in the far north. Training is essential here, as you have to gather hospital staff from town folk that doesn’t know left from right in most cases. A new Urban Mythology room and a set of smart illnesses are a pleasant bonus. Roquefort Castle is probably the most beautiful level of the game to date, and one of the most challenging. Here you deal with turning the old aristocratic castle into a hospital. Massive ghost hauntings and avalanches are typical disasters here, so make sure there are enough qualified janitors to deal with all the mess. Hospitals and Regions When you enter the game, there is just one hospital, Hogsport. It’s a nice building on the ocean shore, where you can learn the basics of the hospital administration. Here you have several curing missions, some hard work on hospital prestige and a few curious items to unlock. After you’ve managed to keep your first hospital in perfect order, the real game begins. There are four regions that differ geographically. Each region is situated in a unique climate zone and has its own challenges and hacks. There are, however, several gameplay options common to any hospital. There is a reputation level, a star rating, a list of hospital objectives, and additional plots to expand your hospital. Here’s the list of the game regions and hospitals situated in them: Countryside Region is the easiest part of the map, and some players address to it as a preparation level before the Big Game. The climate is sweet there, and you don’t have to deal with anxious patients...yet. This region includes three hospitals: Hogsport, Lower Bullocks and Flottering. It’s best to get the most out of every one of them and not to hurry to the more difficult region before you got your extra stars and unlocked a bunch of items that can be used on other levels. Cold Region is the one where you need to care about extra warmth for your patients and personnel. The main tip here is to fill every new hospital building with radiators and air cons. The overall gameplay is a bit harder here, though still quite user-friendly. There are three hospitals here as well: Mitton University, Tumble and Flemington. Here you get the chance for your research activity and get to prepare specialists to treat Fracture illnesses. Industrial Region brings a new level of difficulty with vast amounts of patients, further researches and diseases. Hospital Disasters is a completely new feature here, and the radiators from the cold region are present here too. Hospitals get more specialised: Smogley is surgery-centred, Melt Downs is an abandoned hospital on the way to ecological catastrophe, Duckworth-Upon-Bilge is a public hospital tied with politic affairs. Tropical Region introduces another type of critical weather conditions and a bunch of awful epidemics. Here you will need quite a lot of air conditioners instead of radiators. The goals are very high and every move must be thought out. There’s a Sweaty Palms hospital in the epicentre of natural disasters. Grockle Bay has one of the hardest illnesses which means that improving your Cure Rate is almost impossible here. Blighton is a small town hospital filled with the most dangerous contagious diseases. Urban Region is the place where nothing is left to unlock. It contains three levels that have a great Sandbox value to them. There’s a significant number of patients, and you get the chance to review your favourite experiences from previous levels. There’s a rotting Rotting Hill, a high-tech Pelican Wharf, and everybody’s favourite gigantic Croquembouche. If you have the latest Bigfoot expansion, there’s an added region: Pointy Mountain Region has a new list of illnesses and additional wintery items for the game. There’s Underlook Hotel, probably the unhappiest hospital you’ve ever seen. In Swelbard you’ll have to deal with medical research in the farthest Northern region. Roquefort Castle is a beautiful aristocratic building that needs to be turned into a hospital with the help of your managing skills. Each Level Is Unique You’ll never get bored with Two Point Hospital with more funny illnesses and items to explore in every region. And the gameplay depends on the training to the highest degree. You can train your young medics team different tasks to make them specialists in various medical fields and improve their efficiency. Who to Train and How Two Point Hospital training unlocks when you’ve already learned the basics of the game. There are three staff units in your hospital: Doctors, Nurses and Janitors. Each of them has a special star rating when you recruit them, from one to five. For each star, your worker gains a unique trait, with specialized training of course. Some of the traits are strictly professional, and others help to communicate with patients. Doctors have a list of skills to improve, like General Practitioner, Researcher, Psychiatrist, Surgeon, Treatment and several Diagnostics specializations. Most nurses specialize in Treatment, but they also can build their career in Diagnostics and Ward Management. There’s also a team of hospital assistants that can choose their career path in Marketing and Customer Service with additional Motivation and Stamina Training. Probably, the peculiar and fascinating missions can be found in Janitors’ tasks. They specialize in Maintenance, Mechanics and Ghost Capturing! Most skills are improving your personnel’s abilities in a certain department, but the most basic of them will suit all of them. Training takes place in Training Rooms. The first rule here: the room has to be large as you will surely need to add some Trainee Desks when your personnel grows. Each desk serves for training one of your team members. Sometimes there are missions when it’s important to train more than a dozen employees, so it’s essential to have many desks. When the room is ready, drug one of your employees into the room, choose a trait he must be taught and a person that is going to teach her. A teacher can be someone from your personnel or a paid third-party tutor. The tutors are expensive but indispensable on the first stages of the game when there’s still very few trained personnel. Introducing Tutors: A New Almost-Staff Member You can choose a Doctor and train him as a tutor to minimize the expenses, but in this case, you will still lose an important medical unit. Tutors are not distinguished into a staff class, but you can invent it by training a tutor team from junior doctors. With your teachers, you must look out for training masterclass skill that gives your specialist a considerable boost. Or you can add some useful items to the Training room: skeleton displays or posters that illustrate how different organs work can speed up the studying process. Plants are not important for learning medicine, but they noticeably increase the prestige of your Training room (or any other room, for that matter). It is also useful to give a green fingers trait to your Tutors so that you won’t need to spend so much money on janitors watering the plants. As a pleasant addition to the training, you get a $5000 for every student who completes a particular class. Skills and Tricks Training is deeply connected with your game strategy, and you must not underestimate it. Various offices require Doctors with different skills, so you can concentrate on certain types of skills for different Doctors keeping in mind the position you prepare them for. For example, the diagnosis skill of a high level is precious in a General Practitioner Office, and you can also add an interaction trait to get a highly qualified specialist and a valuable employee. As for the Nurses, they are usually tied to treatment, but you can widen their specialization and maximize their speed skill to let them quickly reach any part of the hospital and help the main specialists with any illness. Apart from speed, you may also question yourself about other non-medical skills and traits you can teach your staff. Traits like cheap and tireless are great if you want to manage your hospital thrifty, while romantic trait brings joy to the medical work and increases the level of happiness: your employees can fall in love and be moved by curing a patient. Happiness level is not essential in research work, but it serves to greater success in a practitioner work. Training Units and Modifiers Training units are used to calculate the time for learning a qualification. TU takes one second of training if your student has a basic learning speed level or if your tutor has a basic teaching speed level. In average it takes you 4 minutes to complete a training course. The tutor training speed grows as his skill evolves. Some of the trainees have a faster learning speed, as well. The worst part is that, as in life, there are true slow-leaners. The learning abilities base on the set of traits and qualifications of a particular student. If a student has a fast learner or a teacher trait, their speed bonus will be 50%. If a tutor or a trainee has attended masterclasses, their speed bonus will be 50% as well. Possessors of a stupid trait get a 25% extended learning process. When you choose several students for the course, it takes the average time based on every modifier there is. Besides tutors and learners’ speed, there’s an additional modifier: the Training Room. As mentioned above, you can get a set of items into the room that help the learning process. All of those items will be added to the list of modifiers for calculating an estimated duration for the course. Before you start the course, the calculated estimated duration appears in the training screen. Don’t Underestimate Training Two Point Hospital training is an essential part of the gameplay. It takes some time to learn all the hacks and pitfalls of it, and at the beginning, the whole process may seem like a distraction from the entire hospital management.
